Passion (Ancient Greek πάθος pàthos, “suffering” “passivity”, and in late Latin passio “passion”, “suffering”) its origin is to be found in the Gospels. Its use comes from the Latin verb patios, “to suffer”. In fact, up until a few centuries ago the term was used to refer to a particularly intense pain and the suffering of religious martyrs who were tortured and killed because of their faith. The passion represented in this piece by Daniele Toesca carries a positive meaning, not for hedonistic or materialistic reasons, but because passion can reveal the limits of human reason when it shows to be incapable of seizing the living totality of all the expressions shown instead by the passions. “A desire fuelled by passion will bring the greatest achievements in life. We all have the ability to create the life we want. The secret of living the dream is hidden in our passion and in what we do because of them”. (Daniele Toesca)
